Numerical investigations on transitional flows around forward and reversed hydrofoils

The laminar–turbulence transition phenomenon widely exists on the surface of many energy equipment, which is deserved to be studied because complex mechanics and some induced undesirable consequences. goal present work investigate transitional flows around forward reversed hydrofoils at different incidences using SST ?-Re˜?t model, with special emphasis dynamics transition. effect inflow turbulence condition considered initially. Then, difference between original k-? model analyzed, in terms near-wall velocity profiles flow morphology. Afterwards, change incidence for hydrofoil clarified detail. primary results show that separation near sharp leading edge where reverse dynamic vortex (RDV) appears makes contribution size RDV much larger than laminar bubble (LSB) over it forms earlier.
